FINALLY BARCELONA RETURNS TO THEIR LEGENDARY STADIUM "SPOTIFY CAMP NOU" AFTER TWO YEARS OF RENOVATION.
Just in FC Barcelona made a long-awaited return to the Spotify Camp Nou for their La Liga fixture against Athletic Club on November 22, 2025, after two-and-a-half years of renovation. The homecoming, while partial, was a deeply emotional occasion for the club and its global fanbase.
An emotional homecoming, a work in progress
The stadium reopened with a restricted capacity of 45,401 spectators, operating under a "Phase 1B" license that allowed fans into the Main Stand, South Goal, and Lateral stands.
Despite being a construction site with cranes still visible and many sections unfinished, the occasion felt like a recovery of the club's "soul" after their temporary exile at the LluÃs Companys Olympic Stadium.
Ahead of the match, an open training session drew over 21,000 fans, offering a rehearsal for the players and supporters to get reacquainted with their home.
Flick and squad look to use Camp Nou as a boost.
Coach Hansi Flick noted that the return will provide a significant boost to the team as they look to turn their inconsistent start to the season around.

Players, some of whom have never experienced a competitive match at the original Camp Nou, expressed their excitement about the new environment where the fans will be closer to the pitch.
The full renovation of the stadium, including a completed roof and full 105,000-seat capacity, is not expected until 2027.
